Thomas Styczynski, aged 75, passed away peacefully on February 29, 2024, in hospice care in Oregon City, Oregon. He was born in Chicago, Illinois to Rose and Ed Styczynski and grew up there amid a large extended family. He graduated from Milwaukee School of Engineering as a Mechanical Engineer. An early marriage ended in divorce and a move to California where he embarked on a long and varied career with Lockheed, ranging from truck design to the Hubble Space Telescope Repair Mission. It was also at Lockheed that he met his “sainted” wife, Carla. After retirement, he remained active in volunteer work and with his vintage British cars. Whether giving a presentation, assisting at the local library, vintage racing, or (his favorite) being a docent at World of Speed car museum, Tom did everything with a passion and joy obvious to all. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
Tom is survived by his wife, Carla; son, Michael (Stephanie); grandson, Alex; sister, Renetta (Tom); great-niece, Natalie. He was predeceased by his parents and niece, Alene.
At his request there will be no services. If desired, contributions may be made to Milwaukee School of Engineering, Thomas Styczynski Class of 1970.
