So very sad to hear my dearest friend Sandy has passed. We grew up together in La Mesa, and spent so many fun times together. I could write a book about all that we did over the many years of growing up. We pretty much lost touch when the Ford family moved to Oregon. Rocky, Craig and Renee were close in age to my children, Martha, & Bubba, (Dirk) and Peter(?) Sandy and I met when we were neighbors on Fir & Fern in San Diego, around 2 & 3 years old I believe. The Withem's and Sharp's were like family. Our folks stayed friends, playing cards with Helen and John up until age got the best of them.  My heartfelt condolences to all of the Withem family.  If you could send me an update on the family I would love to find out how they all are. My sister Jane passed away December 2015 from Alzheimers. The last time I saw Sandy was at her mother's memorial reception, held in Ronnie and Jean's home. Regrettably, we completely lost touch after that soon after.

I HAVE SUCH DEAR MEMORIES OF MY AUNT SANDEE. SHE HAD A WONDERFUL SENSE OF HUMOR. SHE WAS KIND TO ALL. SHE LOVED ALL BABIES AND COULD NOT WAIT TO HOLD THEM. WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER SHE WOULD WEAR RED LIPSTICK AND IT WOULD END UP ON ANY BABY IN THE ROOM FROM ALL OF HER KISSES. SHE LOVED HER FAMILY DEARLY AND MADE ALL OF HER NIECES AND NEPHEWS FEEL LOVED AND CARED ABOUT. SHE WAS A JOY TO BE AROUND. I WILL MISS HER DEARLY. 

I have known Sandy for 70 years. The first three years as a friend, through our church, youth group in La Mesa, and then, as my sister-in-law, when I married her brother Ron, and became a daughter-in-law to Helen and John. (her mom and dad). I could never have chosen a more wonderful family than the Withem’s to do life with. They were the best🥰 I have so many great memories of family get together‘s at the Withem‘s. Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners, birthday celebrations. and many impromptu meals because we all just loved being together, and our kids grew up with great memories of their fun times with cousins Sandy was a woman of strong, character and integrity. She was a born homemaker and dearly loved her husband, children, and later, her grandchildren, and she was also a really good cook. Actually (in my opinion), she fits the description of “The Proverbs 31 Woman.” The last time I spoke with, Sandy, about two months ago, we ended our conversation expressing our love for each other, and for that, I am very grateful. RIP, Sandy, I love you to the moon and back, and you are always in my heart.

So many great memories over the years.  Even pre Oregon memories of Christmas's spent together in CA.  Loud family gatherings full of laughter! I am very glad to have stopped in to visit with you a few weeks back. Was nice to be able to tell you that I loved you one final time.  Rest peacefully with the lord  aunty!  Until we see each other again!

I remember, when we hadn't been in Oregon long, and we had another sleep over at your house (was the house a rental in Albany?).  We were ornery and put string up, across the kitchen cupboards, and, maybe, peanut butter?  Your mama never got angry-I would of lost my mind if I had been the adult in the house.
