Paula Wheatley Theis

Born in London, England on March 4, 1924, passed peacefully from this world on December 19, 2018. A long time resident of Ojai, California, she had spent the last seven years with her daughter and family in Milwaukie, Oregon. In Ojai she enjoyed many years playing bridge on Friday afternoons and was involved in many ministries of the Catholic Church, including bible study, marriage encounter, prayer shawls, RCIA, and liturgical ministries. When she moved to Oregon, she joined St. John the Apostle in Oregon City and started the prayer shawl ministry that still continues today and has touched the lives of so many people. She was also very active in the “PWOP” ministry (parishioners without partners), enjoying Monday morning coffee, dinners out, social events, serving coffee and donuts after masses, beach trips and so much more!

She is survived by her children Kathryn Robison, Christopher Theis, Susan Smith, Timothy Theis and Gregory Theis. Grandchildren, John Robison, Kristina Christensen, Jeffrey Theis, Wesley Theis, Thomas Theis. Great-Grandchildren, Stephanee Benz, Michael Christensen, Drew Christensen, Brandon Theis.

She will be laid to rest in Ojai, California with her loving husband Victor who passed in 2007, her brother Wyndham Mooring and parents William and Gladys Mooring.

There will a funeral Mass at St. John the Apostle 417 Washington St. Oregon City, OR 97045 January 19th at 11:00am. Rosary at 10:30am. Reception to follow.
