Marjorie “Marge” Scovil passed away peacefully Sunday, July 23, 2023, in Oregon, at the age of 85. She was born Marjorie Ann Melick on July 25, 1937, in Ohio, the daughter of Vince Melick, a farmer, and Lola E. Shepherd both of Bladensburg, Ohio.

She loved fashion, dancing, handsome men, Cadillacs, shopping (especially a good sale), travel, nature, National Parks, gardening, and her family. She took hot-air balloon rides in Napa Valley, celebrated her birthday at a Darcelle drag performance, went swing-dancing in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park, and traveled to many beautiful places across the country.
She is survived by her children, Mark White, Carl White, Kathleen “Kathy” Hulme, William “Bill” Murdock, Moira Murdock and son-in-law, Benjamin Goldstein; grandchildren, David Hulme, Matthew Murdock, Elizabeth “Beth” Murdock, Kara Hulme, Mariah Murdock; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Jessie, Emmie, Devin, McKenna, Kolton, Carter; and great-great-grandchild, Myles.
Her love, companionship, laughter, fierce loyalty, and wild heart will be sorely missed.
