Lloyd “Shorty” Arnold Coverdale, 69, of Tualatin, Oregon, passed away peacefully on January 14. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Lloyd/Shorty, will always be remembered for his kindness and willingness to help whoever needed it, even strangers.
Born on April 22, 1955, in Noblesville, IN, Shorty grew up the youngest of Jim and Ellen Coverdale and brother to Larry, Paul, and Dave, and sister Anita.
On June 25, 1994, Lloyd married Nancy Coverdale. The two shared a wonderful time together for over 30 years. They each brought their sons from previous marriages to make a wonderful family.
Lloyd joined the Air Force in 1973 and converted to AF Civil Service as a software developer in 1987.
Being the fun-loving person that he was, he started bartending which was natural for him. After moving to Portland, Oregon, he used those skills and friendships to find his true calling as a Beer Sales Representative. He truly made a name for himself in the beer business with his attitude, integrity and friendship.
Lloyd is survived by his sons, Paul Coverdale and Christopher Stauty with their spouses Melissa Coverdale and Andrea Stauty, as well as his grandchildren Victoria Coverdale, Alexia Stauty, Sofia Coverdale, and Sebastian Coverdale, along with great grandson, Edward James McClain. He is survived by his family of Paul and Terry Coverdale, Dave and Rose Coverdale and Anita Coverdale along with many nieces, nephews and grand nephews. He was proceeded in death by his parents Jim and Ellen and his brother Larry.
A celebration of all things Lloyd/Shorty will be held in the spring of 2025.
