Lawrence "Larry" William Blanchfield passed away peacefully in his sleep after a short battle with cancer on January 25th, 2025. Larry was born on April 21st, 1949 in Tonasket, Washington to Verlin and Ruth (Seyler) Blanchfield. Larry grew up a true cowboy breaking horses with his brothers and father in Entiat, Washington. After graduating from Entiat High School, Larry was drafted into the Army in 1969 and served in Vietnam. Upon his return home from the Vietnam war in 1971 Larry lived in Chelan Washington working at the sawmill and a local trucking company. In 1978 Larry moved to Portland, Oregon where he worked for a short time alongside his brothers at their dad's horse riding stables, The War Bonnet. Finding his true calling Larry started a 30 plus year career with Town and Country fencing where he made lifelong friendships. In 1983 Larry's son William Cody was born and was his best buddy all his life. When Larry retired he spent his time fishing, golfing and having get togethers in his shop with friends and his nephew, Chad, for a game of horseshoes, karaoke and sipping whiskey. Larry never left the house without his cowboy hat, he was a great man and will be missed by so many. Larry is survived by his son William Cody, 2 grandsons Kody and Brody, brothers Wendell and Verlin, sister Teresa, many cousins, nephews and nieces. A military funeral with honors will be held on April 18th at 3 PM at the Willamette National Cemetery in Happy Valley, Oregon.
