Julia A Balmer

Julia Balmer (Hewitt) passed away on February 22, 2024. She was 84 years old. Originally from Guildford, Surrey, England, Julia lived in Cambridge, England and in The Hague, The Netherlands before moving to the U.S.A. in 1977. She lived in Vermilion, Ohio, and in Carlsbad, California and San Marcos, California before moving to Oregon in 2023 to be near family. Among her many hobbies over the years, Julia enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking (especially English cakes, biscuits, and sweets), reading, and watching English comedy shows and movies.

She is preceded in death by her husband of fifty years Victor Balmer, and son, Trevor Abbott. She is survived by brothers Peter and Jeremy Hewitt; children, Helen Blowers (Doug) of Hot Springs, Arkansas; Steven Abbott (Pam) of Portland, Oregon, and James Balmer, of San Diego, California. She is also survived by three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
