John Edward Ankeny

Beloved husband, father and grandfather John “Jack” E. Ankeny, age 76 died on Tuesday, March 20th 2018 at his home in Vancouver Washington, surrounded by family. He was born on September 26th 1941 in Akron Ohio to John “Don” and Lyndall Louise (Lyons) Ankeny.

Jack started work as a machinist at a young age, beginning a lifelong pursuit of hard work in order to provide for his loved ones. He spent the majority of time working on screw machines where he rose to be one of the best set-up men / troubleshooters in the business. On February 8th 1963 in Pasadena California he married Patricia Raymond and together they had two sons. He enjoyed sports, camping, fishing, water-skiing, and especially motor-sports of all kinds, but nothing gave him more pleasure than making people laugh.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Pat; brothers Bill (Barb), Jeff (Susan) and Bob (Jenn); sons Keith (Melissa) and Ron (Erica); and his beloved grandchildren Nicholas and Morgan.

Per his request there will be no ceremony, but instead will be an invitational poker tournament followed by an open house for friends and family. In lieu of flowers please donate to the America Heart Association in Jack’s name.
