HALL, Janet M. - It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Janet M. Hall of Milwaukie, Oregon, in her 78th year after a brief battle with cancer. Predeceased by her husband Harlan in 1985, Janet is survived by her beloved son, Gary Hall, and her three siblings: Hal Campbell of Vancouver, WA; Lana Watkins of Valleyford, WA; and Maria Setaro of Arizona. Born on August 11, 1938, in St. Louis, MO, Janet spent her early childhood in Missouri and California, and her teen years in Spokane, WA. At age 20, she moved to Hawaii where she worked for Pan American Airlines. After her marriage and the birth of her son, the family moved to Chicago, IL, and later had their own travel agency in Sheboygan, WI. Janet enjoyed traveling the world with her work and friends. A few of her favorite places were Hawaii, Alaska, Egypt, and South Africa. She later moved to Seattle, WA, and then to Vancouver, WA. She continued working in the travel industry until her retirement in 2012. She then moved to Milwaukie, OR, to be closer to her son. Janet also enjoyed science fiction, a good laugh, language-related quips, geology, paleontology, and dinosaurs, among other things. Following cremation, a memorial service will be held for friends and family on March 25th at 1:00 p.m. in the Vitality Room at Town Center Village, 8603 SE Causey Ave., Happy Valley, OR, 97086. Janet's ashes will be scattered at a later time at Wahkeena Falls in the Columbia River Gorge. This is a place she often referred to as being the closest place to Hawaii that there is here in the Pacific Northwest.
