J. Anna Camille Walmer, also known as Jo Ann “Jodi” Walmer, joined her family in heaven on February 3rd, 2025. Jodi was born on July 7th, 1952 to Joe Holliday and Anna Mae Walmer at St. John’s Hospital in Longview, WA, and raised in Kelso, WA.
Jodi was in Kelso High School’s class of 1970. Following high school, she pursued studies in non-traditional jobs for women at Lower Columbia College and completed night classes in blueprinting and field sketching.
Jodi worked as a Personal Property Appraiser for the Cowlitz County Assessor’s office before beginning her long-time job for the City of Longview as a bus driver. Jodi loved driving the bus and getting to see her passengers daily.
With a heart for service, Jodi began volunteering full time within the community when she retired. She volunteered at Red Hat Thrift Store and most notably, Monticello Middle School, where she always had her trusty sidekick, Snoopy dog. Jodi also cherished serving her community alongside her church family as a member of Gloria Dei Lutheran church.
Jodi loved helping others and was always willing to answer the call. Jodi opened her home and heart to family and friends without hesitation. She was generous and wanted to see others thrive. Whether it was an old bus passenger or an old friend, Jodi always remembered a face and wanted to say “Hi.” She loved spending time with her friends and sharing a hearty laugh.
Jodi was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, cousin, and friend. She was “Nana” to many and never missed a birthday card. At the beginning of every year, Jodi would fill her calendar with every birthday she could remember because she loved to acknowledge her family and friends and make people feel special. She saved each birthday card, school picture, and child’s drawing that she received because she treasured her loved ones.
Jodi is survived by her son Tyler Lincoln Demyan (grandsons Lincoln Tyler, Tabor Halen James, Urban Creed Demyan, Champion Genieboy Rowland, granddaughters, Nation Bryah Demyan, Dyani Marie Rowland), her daughter Lacey Holliday Jordan (Seth Ryan and granddaughters Liv Reece and Morgan Ryan Jordan), her daughter Tia Marie Verhasselt, and the father of her daughters, Victor Fred Verhasselt. She is also survived by her sisters Christy Lynn Mayfield and Lillian “Pebbles” Gail Lowery (niece Brianna Mae Blalock and nephew Nolan Connor Lowery), and her dearest cousin William Owen Walmer.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 12th, 2025, at Adeline Farms, 3906 Lewis River Rd, Woodland, WA 98674. Doors will open at 11:00am and the service will begin at 12:00pm with a reception to follow. Please dress warm and wear comfortable shoes. A chauffeured golf cart will be available for transport on the venue grounds.
Jodi’s family will have a memory table displayed at the celebration of life if anyone would like to bring a photo or item to display during the service.
As Jodi would have said, “Goodbye, for now!” Because she knew, no goodbye is forever.
