Herbert Edward Nagel, at 79 years old, moved into his Father’s House on Friday, July 21, 2023, while in his home in Grants Pass, Oregon. Ed was born on March 23, 1944, to Herbert and Mancy Nagel in Whittier, California. He graduated from Bellflower High School in 1962.
On April 25, 1970, Ed married Glenda L. Donovan in Costa Mesa, California. They had two daughters, Amanda Kathleen Pimentel and Julie Anna Brantner, and five grandchildren, Aubrey Saquilon, Lauren Silva, Carlie Silva, Drake Silva, and Whitney Brantner.
Ed worked in outside sales selling meat, fish, and poultry for many years until his retirement in 2010. In 2008, he went back to school at Cabrillo College in Aptos, California, and received his Associate’s Degree and Certification in Archeology Technology in 2010. Ed was an active member of Desert Survivors and volunteered in the BLM archeology departments of both California and Oregon. He also enjoyed volunteering as a traffic and parking attendant for Edgewater Christian Fellowship.
Ed is survived by his wife, Glenda Nagel (Grants Pass, OR), and his two daughters, Amanda Pimentel (Watsonville, CA) and Julie Brantner (Gilroy, CA). He is predeceased by his parents, Herbert Nagel and Mancy Nagel, and his brother James Nagel.
Memorial services will be held at Edgewater Christian Fellowship in Grants Pass, Oregon, on September 16, 2023, at 11:30 am, with a reception to follow.
