Hardy Robert Cave

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad, Hardy Cave, who went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 30, 2025, at the age of 79. He was born September 30, 1945, in San Diego, CA to Harvey and Mignon Cave, moving at a young age to St Helens, OR where he graduated in 1963 from St Helens High School. Hardy attended boot camp in Fort Benning, GA and after serving in the US Army National Guard, he planted roots in the Pacific NW, dedicating time to his family and his life to Christ.

He cherished his wife of 45 years and took great pride in his children and grandchildren, whether it was through his strict guidance or his playful spirit. He taught us all the value of kindness, hard work and perseverance.

His passion for storytelling and writing not only brought joy to his life, but also to those around him and that standout ability paved the way for his first book to be published later in life. He would light up a room with his warmth and humor, leaving a lasting impression on everyone he met. His life was a tapestry of experiences, filled with both challenges and countless moments of joy. His unique perspective on life often led him down different paths landing our family on many different, and sometimes, exciting adventures, but he always taught us the importance of cherishing our moments together, whether many or few and we will remember the lessons learned and the love shared.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Glenda, his 12 children: Duane Cave, Max Parham, Laurie Eaton, Juanita Nunnally, Jason Cave, Cami Cullers, Rajean Lakson, Rusty Cave, Chuck Harris, Rebekah Kooyman, Stacy (Scooter) Cave and Ben Harris; he was blessed with many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren.

Hardy is also survived by his siblings with whom he was very close Russell Cave, Sandra Winterfeld, Curtis Cave and Lisa Henry.
