Duane was born to Clarence and Lois Bergevin of Walla Walla, Washington on
March 17, 1936. He grew up in Walla Walla and later attended college at
Washington State University where he joined the ROTC. Upon graduation Duane
was commissioned as an officer to the United States Army. Duane remained
active in the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity throughout his life. Duane had
residences in San Jose, CA; Tucson, AZ; Gig Harbor WA, Georgetown, TX;
Charbonneau, OR.
Duane enjoyed golfing, was an avid traveler and loved to go dancing, He loved
to be around his friends and family and share his love for people. He truly never
met a stranger. He enjoyed a 30-year military career in the United States Army,
retiring has a Colonel and he also enjoyed a 30-year commercial aviation career
as a pilot with TWA.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Marilyn Bergevin (Fogle). His
three brothers, Wade Bergevin, Keith Bergevin and Gordon Bergevin.
Duane is survived by his children; daughter Michele (Mike) Eneboe of
Georgetown, TX.; son, Mike (Kathy) Bergevin of Bozeman, MT.; son, Jim (Jenny)
Bergevin of Lake Oswego, OR.; surrogate daughter, Julie (Tuck) Bonney of
Kodiak, AK.; surrogate son, Rod (Sue) Fogle of Colville, WA.; surrogate son, Steve
Fogle of Colville, WA.; surrogate daughter, Wendy (Bruce) McKee of Denver,
CO.; twenty grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and many nieces and
nephews.
A gathering of family and close friends will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday,
March 16th at Believers Fellowship at 4112 Hunt Street NW, Gig Harbor, WA.
