

David was born on May 17th, 1959, to Robert Edward and Lillian Naomi Latham in Alton, Illinois. He was the youngest of his siblings. David was preceded in death by his parents, his sisters Beverly Ann, Donna Rae, Terra Sue, Vicki Jean, Sherri Lea, and his beloved great-niece Renae. He is survived by his sisters Claudia Ruth, Debbie Rhea, Christi Ann, Kerri Jo, and Nichoel Nanette, and he also leaves behind many nieces, great-nephews and nieces, and great-great-nephews and nieces. David grew up in a large, loving family with five uncles and five aunts.
For most of his life, David was a computer programmer and a dedicated chemistry professor, sharing his passion for science with many students. He was known for his playful spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and for being a complete prankster, often bringing laughter to those around him. He was also the keeper of the family tree and genuinely cared deeply for everyone in his family. Through his love of genealogy, later in life he was able to reconnect with many family members he cherished.
David was also an avid gun enthusiast and collector, driven by his love of history and craftsmanship. He was a long-time resident of Milwaukie, Oregon, for more than 40 years. He will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, students, and all who knew him.
