Dale met his wife, Nancy, at Crater Lake in 1964 where they were both working during summer break from college. They were married Aug. 14, 1966, in Lincoln City, OR.
He graduated from Oregon College of Education in Monmouth. He worked in education for public schools and then finished out his career working for the U.S. Forest Service, where he was proud to coordinate an annual Outdoor School Program.
Dale was a Vietnam era vet. He was drafted and served in the U.S. Army, based out of Korea.
Dale was an Albany resident for over 40 years and was a longstanding active member at the First United Methodist Church.
Dale enjoyed cruising and traveling to many places in the world, writing a children’s novel, Oregon history, gardening, volunteering, Bunco, spending time with family, and socializing at the Mennonite Village where he lived the last year of his life.
Dale was preceded in death by his beloved wife Nancy. He is survived by his brother Lee of Houston, TX, three children; Alan Edwards of Monmouth; Chad Edwards and wife Ashley of Turner, and Brittany Magana and husband Andres of Hillsboro.
A memorial service for Dale will be held, Saturday, Oct. 7, 1 pm at Albany First United Methodist Church.
