Carol was born on April 4th, 1933 in Pasadena, California to Clark and Regina McConnell. She was raised with her loving brothers Clark Jr. and Jack.
Upon Graduation from high school, Carol attended Redlands University and Oregon State University. She became engaged to her high school sweetheart, Ed Dey, a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. They were married on December 23rd, 1953 in San Marino, California.
Carol had meaningful ties with her family and friends and brought joy into everyone’s lives. She and Ed cultivated an extraordinary group of lifelong friends as they built their life together. She loved traveling, fishing and playing cards, especially cribbage. Carol was a talented artist, most known for her quilting, wood carving, and paintings. A breast cancer survivor of 33 years, Carol was an active volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital Breast Cancer Outreach Program. She was dedicated to helping educate breast cancer patients and their families. With her kind heart and experience, she guided numerous individuals through the realities of the disease.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Dey, and their two children, David Dey and Christy Suelzle. Carol dearly loved her grandchildren, Marissa, Alecia, Angie, Todd and Aimee, as well as her nine great grandchildren.
Carol, with her spirit of generosity, kindness and loving heart, will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
