Stanley Raymond Jordan

Stan's love for farming started at an early age as a farm hand for neighbor Lyman Freshour. He joined 4-H where he showed cattle. He also worked for Melvin Moon and showed cattle at the Michigan State Fair in Detroit. Mr. Moon helped him go to auctioneer school. He met and learned under some of the great auctioneers like Jim Chestnut.

He met Jennifer Starr in high school and they were married on December 27, 1969.

He worked for Jim Birney at Mason Elevator when it burned in 1970 where he got the urge to become a firefighter.

Stan joined the Mason Fire Department in 1970 and was an active member until he fell in 1981 and was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. He still helped any way he could until 2000 when he felt he had to retire for safety reasons. Stan has been an active member of the Mason Lions Club for over 45 years. He helped with many fundraisers such as our infamous tractor pulls (don't ask) that we had twice, toy farm tractor show, and taking tickets at the MSU Football games.

Stan was named Citizen of the Year in 2000. He has been President and Vice President of the ingham County Fair Board, he was very instrumental in founding the Ingham County Fair Foundation and was inducted into the MAFE hall of fame in 2016. He is a member of Mason Holt Eagles, the Stockbridge Son's of the American Legion and a founding member of The Mason Depot BTB's.

Stan is survived by his wife Jennifer (Starr) Jordan; son, Brian (Rabecca Heinrich) Jordan; daughter, Carrie Gentges and Rebecca Jordan; grandchildren, Cody Jodan, Jessica Jordan, John Michael Gentges Jr. and Grant Gentges; brother, Bob Jordan; and sisters, Chris Jordan Foreman and Sandra Olger. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Rosemary Jordan and brother Bill Jordan.
