Sherry Ruth Brumgard, nee Condon, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at University of Michigan – Sparrow Hospital in Lansing. She was the daughter of Charles J. Condon and S. Virginia Condon, nee Lehman, born November 4, 1953, in Millville NJ.
She was employed in various accounting, credit, and real estate title preparation roles. Her health issues kept her from regular employment in later life, and embraced the roles of housewife, mother and grandmother. Her passion and love for God our Father led her through various Sabbath keeping churches and groups, striving to learn the truth of His word, and to live a righteous life.
Her later years had her enjoying travel to visit family in the east and Texas. She enjoyed seeing historic places and the beauty of our blessed country. A favorite destination was Ocean City, NJ and whale watching cruises off Cape May NJ. She also enjoyed the great lakes shores, often taking day trips to Grand Haven, and Muskegon, and longer trips to the northern lower peninsula of Michigan, including the Frankfort area.
She was a 1972 graduate of Millville High School, and married on May 24, 1974, in Cherry Hill NJ to James (Jim) Brumgard of Chester Springs PA. After starting her family in Royersford PA, her husband’s work took them to Northern Kentucky near Cincinnati, and in 1988 they moved again, this time to Lansing MI. Jim’s work in the lubricants field was now closely supporting business with the auto manufacturers and their suppliers. As children grew to leave the home and start their adult lives, Sherry renewed her education, and she attended Lansing Community College and was inducted into the Phi Theta Kappa Society as she completed her two years’ study at LCC and transferred to the Michigan State University. She graduated from MSU in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in interdisciplinary studies in social science health studies, focusing on a career in assisting young mothers with early childhood development. She pursued her master’s degree at Michigan State and later with the University of Phoenix. However, as she obtained her MBA from University of Phoenix, her health worsened and she focused her energy on recovery and as a housewife at home. She loved her pets and the birds outside using her feeders. Jethro our orange butter ball cat will miss her.
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Sandra, Sherman, and Richard. Surviving is her husband, Jim; daughters, Kimberly (Daron) Walls of Texas and Lindsay Brumgard; son, Jonathan (Michaela) Brumgard of Michigan; along with 13 grandchildren living in Texas and Michigan.
