Ronald Gerard Hammes

Ron was retired from being a North American OTR driver for Art Mulder & Sons. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corp and was stationed overseas during the Vietnam War. Ron enjoyed his free time watching his favorite Michigan based sports teams, the Detroit Lions, The Detroit Tigers and U of M College Basketball and Football. He was also an avid fan of Western, Cowboy and Native American films, along with old Laurel & Hardy reruns on TV. He was fascinated with the outdoors and watching wild animals, especially the deer that visited his family home on a daily basis. He loved holiday family get togethers, good humor and quiet times on their cabins' front porch.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andy & Mae; and younger brother, John Hammes. Surviving is his wife, Judy Hammes; children, Karen A. Hammes, Christopher R. Hammes, and Kyle A. (Jenny Bird) Hammes; stepson, Michael (Christina Berry) Semenovich; grandchildren, Carmen Hammes, Jeffrey Hammes and Nicholas Hammes; siblings, Anne Carter, Mary Hinchman, David Hammes and Sue Arnett; along with many nieces and nephews.
