Griff retired from a distinguished 45-year career in real estate in 2006. He was also deeply committed to serving his community and proudly served as Chairman of the Manchester, Vermont School Board from 1990 to 1999. A devoted sports enthusiast and lifelong New York Giants fan, Griff found great joy in cheering on his favorite teams, gathering with family and friends, and supporting his children throughout their many activities and accomplishments. Community, family, and celebration were at the heart of everything he did.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Louise Griffin.
Griff is survived by his beloved wife, Verlinda Griffin, with whom he shared nearly 54 years of marriage, of Caledonia, Michigan; daughter, Kimberly Snyder; and her children, Trace, Brock, and Raleigh; son, Carter (Kelly) Griffin; and their children, Bella and Maddox.
Griff will be remembered for his unmistakable Pavarotti-like cheers from the sidelines, his samurai-like patience, his remarkable ability to listen, and the unwavering optimism that guided his life. His warmth, encouragement, and steadfast presence touched the lives of all who knew him.
A private family gathering will be held in the coming weeks to celebrate Griff's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his honor to a charity of the donor's choice.
