Nancy Christine Brekke

Nancy Christine Brekke, age 82 of Chicago, Illinois, passed away on the 8th of August 2026 at Rose Arbor Hospice in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The daughter of Herbert Brekke and Rebecca Dolcart, she was born on November 19, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois.

Nancy retired from Sears after 30 years and was a member of many groups. She was a member of Church of the Spirit, SGI USA Buddhist Community, Northtown Garden Society, 24th District Police Station Citizens, and Inward Journey Spiritual Group. Nancy was also an avid astrologer and attended many astrology activities.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Stewart Brekke. She is survived by her cousin, Sharon; Sharon's daughter, Ellen and son, Mark; cousins, Barbara, Kathleen, Suzie, Ron, & Bud; along with many other cousins. She will also be missed by friend, Willite and her daughter, Trena; additional friends, Ellen, Elaine, Jessica, Laura, Becky, Cher, Molly and Joann; Jeri the Austin High Bunch; Timothy, from her Rogers Park Condo Building, as well as Josh; and Mila’s children, Briana, Sabrina & Kate. And last, but not least her good buddies, Mary and Mila who took her to a pig roast barbecue with a live band playing the Beatles and Gorden Lightfoot, which Nancy swayed and sang to while eating her wonderful last meal of delicious food. This was the day before she started her eternal journey. A real live wire, our Nancy, to the end!

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Nancy by taking a friend out to dinner and sharing the relationship you had with Nancy. She will enjoy hearing those memories from the other side.
