

He was born in Stickney, South Dakota to Martin and Marie VanVuuren. He was employed at Keeler Brass and the various companies that purchased the business for 43 years. His final years of work was at TMI in Grandville. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Wyoming and American Legion Post 208. He loved being outdoors hunting and fishing was his passion.
He cherished his family, wife, daughters, grandchildren, great grandchildren and his dog Coco. He took great pleasure in helping his family and friends with anything that needed doing. He was always happy to help.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Janette Hatchel; son-in-law, Billy Hatchel; brothers, Dennis and Phillip VanVuuren; and much loved great granddaughter, Kylie Robertson.
He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 59 1/2 years, Norris C "Sam"; daughter, Melissa VanVuuren; grandsons, Kevin (Katrina) a Keith Robertson, William (Monica) Hatchel; granddaughter, Christi Hatchel; brothers, Larry, Loren and Lyle VanVuuren; sisters, Ora Lou Smith and Mary Jane (Dave) Messenger; and sister-in-law, Muriel VanVuuren. He was GGPa to several beautiful great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
