Mary Lou Sibson

Mary Lou Sibson, age 83, of Muskegon, passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at Trinity Hospital in Muskegon. The daughter of Forest and Bessie Greer, she was born on August 13, 1941, in Light Arkansas.

Mary Lou graduated from Muskegon Heights High School in 1959. She then married James Sibson, together they had two sons, Tracy and Frank. After over 30 years of employment she retired from Howmet, where she made many friends. Mary Lou was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #668. In her retired years she spent her time cooking large Sunday dinners for her family, reading novels, watching old westerns, playing cards and meeting with her grade school friends for breakfast every week. Loved by many, Mary Lou was kind, supportive, and happy to meet new people all the time. One of her greatest joys was the annual trip to Las Vegas for Super Bowl Weekend alongside her husband, sons and their close-knit group of friends. As a grandmother, her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was supportive in everything they did and loved to spend time with all of them.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Don Greer; parents, Forest and Bessie Greer; husband, James Sibson; and son, Frank Sibson. Mary Lou is survived by her son, Tracy (Stacey) Sibson; daughter-in-law, Danielle Sibson; and four grandchildren, Brooke Decou (Amy Ver-Wey), Carter Sibson, Corbin Sibson and Genevieve Sibson.

Memorial Luncheon will be held from 11 AM to 2 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, at Whitlow’s Forerunner, 4610 Airline Road, Muskegon, MI, 49444. In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the National Kidney Foundation.
