Karen Marie (Saltzgaber) Cronk passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2025, after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease. Karen was born in Jackson, MI on October 19th,1955 to Derald and Johanne (Sherwood) Saltzgaber. Karen married Keith Cronk on September 19th, 1992.
Karen graduated from Tekonsha High School in 1973. She was a cheerleader, a band member, and ran track. She furthered her education at Kellog Community College, Davenport University, and Tri-State (Trine) University pursuing business and accounting.
Karen’s family was her number one priority. She always made sure she was as supportive and present as possible, no matter what. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, playing billiards, playing golf, and going for motorcycle rides. She worked many jobs during her lifetime, with her last one being at Dave’s Lake Shack in Fremont, IN. She loved her customers and treated everyone like family.
Karen is survived by her husband, Keith Cronk, of Augusta, MI; daughters Danielle (Ted) Meyers of Fremont, IN, Stephanie (Tyler) Asher of Tekonsha, MI, Erin (John) Beyette of Decatur, MI, and son Jaymie (Melissa Spooner) Cronk of Bronson, MI; Grandchildren Lucas and Paige Beyette, Emily and Samantha Meyers, and Dax Asher; sisters Susan (Tom) Magocs of Coldwater, MI, Dianne (Jerry) VandenHout of Coldwater, MI, brothers Doug (Pam) Saltzgaber of Dorr, MI and Brian Saltzgaber of Fremont, IN and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Derald and Johanne Saltzgaber, and brother Mark Saltzgaber.
A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1907 at 331 Butters Ave, Coldwater, MI 49036 on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at 1:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Community Humane Shelter of Steuben County IN or to Centrica Care Navigators Hospice Care in Kalamazoo MI.
