Jerry Berlin Sherwood, age 79, of Wyoming, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. The son of Mary Katherine and Pete Sherwood, he was born on April 2, 1944, in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
Surviving are his wife, Sherry; children, Kim, Kari, and Valerie (Nick); grandchildren, Adam (Hope), Alex (Tiffany), Sivle, and Vann; great grandchild, Lillian Marie; along with several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Jerry worked in trucking for over 40 years, retiring from Coca-Cola after 17 years of service. Jerry always found ways to keep active and enjoyed various activities including fishing, golf, skiing, skeet shooting, and billiards. He was a motorcycle enthusiast who enjoyed road trips to see family and discover new watering holes. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed over twenty summers at Big Star Lake fishing, boating, and cooking for the Snug Harbor regulars. If you are a friend of Jerry’s, then you know he is a passionate conversation partner, always bringing excitement to the table.
He was so humbled in these last months by the show of love and support from friends, family, and liquor store clerks alike.
At Jerry’s request, no services will be held. Instead, we ask that you laugh over a fond memory, play a game of keno, and raise a glass of Jack and Coke in his honor.
Memorial contributions can be made to Faith Hospice in Jerry’s honor.
