Jerry was a man of few words and the one's he chose were important to him. He was a developmentally disabled person from birth but it didn't deter him from enjoying life. While there he would be named Employee of the Month three separate times and even Employee of the Year in 2001 for the Lansing Plant.
Also in the 2010's for several years, he would go to CMH's Transitions Central program. Which would take him to many outside activities like bowling, swimming, movie theater and other places around the area. During this time, he attended many free outdoor Concerts In the Park with his father and brother.
In the last several months of his life, he had started to go the Forster Woods Adult Day Center in East Lansing and had finally found a new place that was a fit for him before his sudden passing.
