She is survived by her sons, Scott (Colleen) and Tyler (Tanya); grandchildren, Madison (Michael), Brett, Brooke (Trevor), Kendra (Josh), Michaela, Dillon (Grace), Shara, and Kip; as well as great-grandchildren, Leeland, Melody, Nyla, Oliver, and Theo.
She was preceded in death by her dear mother, Glory V. (Pearce) Hardenstine; loving husband, Keith R. Christie; and brothers whom she adored, Reg Bergdoll Jr., Tom Bergdoll, and Walt Hardenstine.
Janet was born in Wyandotte, Michigan and relocated to Largo, Florida where she graduated high school and then moved on to working for Eastern Airlines. Her work took her to El Salvadore where she met Keith Christie. They were married for over 50 years. Together their family lived as expatriates, due to Keith’s work with the Department of State (Embassies), in Port-au-Prince, Moscow, Washington D.C., Jakarta, Stockholm, Bonn, Paris, and Cairo before Keith’s retirement to Florida. Janet often remarked about the amazing and blessed life she’d led, the wonderful people she became friends with over the years, and the amazing places she was able to visit.
Her family loved her beautiful and feisty spirit, fantastic cooking, great parties, and the tireless way she cared for everyone. She frequently thanked God for blessing her so much.
She will be so very missed – God Speed Janet.
An old Irish saying: Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love makes a memory no one can steal.
