He was a graduate of Western MI University, receiving a degree in engineering. Jim was employed at Ford Motor Co. for ten years, and later as an account manager for Ford and Chrysler at Maremont Exhaust.
There were many trips during their marriage including those with the Nomads travel club which included St. Lucia and Nova Scotia. Jim being an avid duck hunter took many trips to Deer Creek in Ky, Mexico and Uruguay.
He was a dedicated volunteer with Ducks Unlimited in Northville, MI and in Grand Rapids for 45 years. Everyone who knew him was exposed to his many "duck tales".
He is survived by his wife of 56 yrs.; sons, Joseph Stewart and John Stewart both of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Daniel and Ruby Stewart both of Grand Rapids; sister, Suzanne Todd of Aiken SC; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Mycek (Steve Chulig) of South Lyon.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Brett Brinker and his staff for all the care and services that were provided to Jim for the last five years. Also thank you to the Infusion Center at LHCHC esp., Lori and Nancy.
Jim, your family and friends hope you are on your way to the marsh where there will be many birds in flight. Enjoy your journey!
