Gordon Bruce Prestly, age 73, of White Cloud, Michigan passed away peacefully at home after a long battle with Brain Cancer, on Saturday, April 11, 2026 with his wife by his side. He fought like a Warrior.
He was born on July 26, 1952 to Theodore Prestly and Doris (Prestly) Hoover at Gerber Hospital in Fremont, Michigan. He graduated from White Cloud High School in 1970.
Gordy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Cathy Clayborn-Prestly; two sons, Jareb 10 and Jaxon 9; brother, Ted (Donna V) Prestly; sister, Donna (Randy) Kester; along with many other family and friends who will sadly miss him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Doris (Hoover) Prestly; and sister, Patricia Davis.
After School he worked at the Gas station in White Cloud and then with Sub-Surface. He then worked for 32 years with Consumers Energy (Consumers Power Co) in Boiler Maintenance; then onto their Western Travel Crew for the plants in Michigan where he was a Welder/Machinist Repairman, Metal Fabricator, Tirben Repair, and Safety for downed lines and more. Then he transferred to the Croton Dam where he worked until he retired.
In the early years of marriage he and Cathy enjoyed their Harley's and traveling alone or with friends on the open road. Gordy was a hard worker and after retiring planned to travel with Cathy on their bikes but was cut short by Brain Cancer in 2014. He was in remission until July, 2023. In 2012 Gordy and Cathy moved in the home where Gordy was born and raised. He farmed the family homestead with his older brother, Ted until his death. He loved farming; working on machinery at the farm and being on the tractors plowing, discing, and bailing hay. The last three years he utilized his time with family, the farm, friends and his Ministry.
Gordon was a gentlé, humble man who loved sharing his belief in Jehovah God, and his son Jesus - Christ; and the Bible to everyone.
He was a devoted husband and father to his family taking the Spiritual lead and doing things with them.
