

Geno age 78, of Sparta. Mi., a Viet Nam Vet, went to be with the Lord, July 28, 2025, after a short battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Anna Bouwens, and his beloved brother Tom Danos, whom nicked name Geno “Peachy Cabana”. Surviving is his loving wife of 51 years, Alma (Duron) Bouwens, son Charlie Morris from a former marriage, brother John, Joyce Danowski and sister Carole (Danowski) Riddering, along with many other family members, nephews, and nieces.
Graduated from Comstock Park High School and served in Viet Nam from 1966 to1968. He was in the 196 Light Infantry Brigade, received the National Defense Service Medal, combat infantryman badge, the Vietnam Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star, the Viet Nam Campaign Medal with an Honorable Discharge. Geno received his Bachelor’s degree at Farris State University in Machine Design Engineer. Married in 1974 to Alma, competed for 18 years polka dancing and known as 3-time National Polka Champions. He was a semi-pro bowler and above average golf and pool player. Member of the American Legion and VFW. Enjoyed his life at home, he called heaven.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated, 11:00 am, Friday August 22, 2025 at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish, 1200 Alpine Church RD., Comstock Park, MI. 49321, with Father Chris Rouech residing. The family will greet relatives and friends one hour prior to the service.
In memory of Geno, memorial contributions may be made in the form of purchasing a Pine Tree to plant on their property as Geno so wanted.
