
Scanlon, Edward John, age 71, of Paw Paw, MI, formerly of Chicago, IL and Carrabelle, FL, passed away at his home on July 17, 2026. He was the son of Edward John and Dolores May Scanlon (nee Preusser).
Born on August 2, 1954, in Chicago, IL, Edward was baptized and attended grade school at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Parish, and attended high school at St. Ignatius in Chicago. Most recently, he was a parishioner of St. Mary Church in Paw Paw, MI.
Besides attending daily Mass, Ed enjoyed solving puzzles, watching sports, and discussing sports statistics; he had a unique ability to recall accurate stats and results for teams and players from both the present day and decades past. Ed worked as a dock worker, sign hanger, train operator for the Chicago Transit Authority before retiring to Carrabelle, Fl and then finally living his last years in Paw Paw, MI.
He was preceded in death by his parents; as well as his sisters, Jacqueline Scanlon (Ed Shanahan) and Rita (Russell) Lowe. He is survived by his loving children, Edward, Leanne, and Michael Scanlon; and three grandchildren, Ryan Spizzirri, Malachi Scanlon, and Delilah Scanlon, who he absolutely adored.
Memorial services will be held at a date to be determined in the near future.
