David John Michalski

David John Michalski, age 78, of Canadian Lakes, MI, passed away on Friday, September 4, 2026 at the Reed City, MI Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. The son of Joseph and Mary Michalski, he was born on August 16, 1948 in Dearborn, MI.

David retired from the Dearborn Police Department after 28 years and was a member of the Stanwood Eagles; Dearborn Police Union Rep; Knights of Columbus St. Michael Catholic Church, Remus, MI.

He enjoyed golf (sort of); fishing; boating; watching and yelling at the Detroit Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers! His favorite saying was "Oh, what the hell!"

David was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mary (Leck) Michalski; brother, Ronald Michalski. Surviving is his spouse, Diane (Suchon) Michalski; Daughters, Kerry (Bradley) Timms, and Sarah (Kenneth) Krasnodemski; grandchildren, Meredith, Andrew, Graham Timms, and Max Krasnodemski. two stepchildren, Nikolos and Natasha Krasnodemski; nieces, Cathy (Michalski) Prohofsky and Nicki (Michalski) Graham.

Memorial services are at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at St. Michael Catholic Church, 8929 50th Ave. Remus, MI (989-967-3411) with a luncheon at the Church Hall following the service.
