David was raised by his grandparents from a very young age. By the time he was 16, he was essentially living on his own. He graduated from ITT Tech and became a robotics engineer, working predominantly in automotive and industrial automation. While in college, he married Lori Deis (Armstrong) who is the mother of his children. In 2003 he married Kristine Silver (Foight).
The David, who Kris loved, had a quirky sense of humor and a childlike knack for fun. They met while living in the same house in separate apartments and started their relationship when Kris acquired a Mustang.
David loved going camping and later, stepping up to a cabin in the woods. He enjoyed building balsa wood airplanes and displaying them around the house. He often created acronyms for random phrases. The one he used the most was COH, Creature of Habit.
David developed close relationships with a small circle of friends and neighbors who he spent time with almost every day.
David’s spirit lives on in Kris’ heart, in his sons and grandsons, and in all those whose lives he touched. His interest in airplanes and robotics had significant influence on his sons’ future careers. David will be missed by family and friends.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Jeanette and David L. Foight; grandparents, Mildred and Donald Olmstead; brother, Alan Cook; uncle, Michael Olmstead; and sister, Kay Bowerman.
