Bud was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving during the Korean War. He was employed by General Motors Fisher Body (Lansing Plant) for 33 ½ years of service until his retirement in October 1998. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles and snowmobiles, playing and singing country music and spending time at the lake with family and friends. He remains the Champion of our (No Mercy) marble game.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years Lorraine Olney; daughter: Lauralee (John) Cockerham; four sons: Jeffrey Olney, Michael (Jill) Olney, Thomas Olney, Andrew Olney; six grandchildren: Jamie Wesley, Jodi (Ron) Rose, Marcus Olney, Corey Olney, Jessica Olney, Jacob Olney; nine great-grandchildren: Amber Jensen, Anthony Wesley, Dustyn (Shannon) Rose, Miranda Rose, Sean Wesley, Nicholas Wesley, Dylan Rose, Jonathan Wesley, Madilyn Olney; four great-great-grandchildren: Connor Jensen, Dawson Rose, Lilah Jensen, Jaxon Wesley; brother: Carl Olney and several nieces and nephews and many friends.
Preceding him in death were his parents in death by: father: Embrey Olney, mother: Lucille Olney, and step-mother: Thelma Olney.
There will be no public visitation or services.
Private family services will be at a later date.
