Barbara Lorraine Jones

Barbara L. Jones (Kissel), age 89, of Kalamazoo, Michigan. Passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Alamo Cove Nursing Center in Kalamazoo. She was born on January 9, 1937, in Fawn River Township, Sturgis to the late Clyde Ethylone Kissel and Farrell Latreska Cantrall.

Barb loved to attend church on Saturday and Sunday at Alamo. She enjoyed listening to country and worship music, playing games, crafts, sewing, putting together memory bears and quilting. Most of all she loved all the time she spent with her daughter, grandchildren and great grandchildren after moving back to Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Maria) Nehmer of Monee IL andTonya (Mark) Bakhuyzen of Kalamazoo, MI; nine grandchildren, Betsy (Conrad) Ruiz, Jessica (Stephen) Klobucher, Diana Nehmer, Zach (Jessi) Nehmer, David Nehmer, Molly (Vance) Forseman, Danielle Nehmer, Josh Nehmer and Desiree Nehmer; and seven great-grandchildren, Gavin, Grace, Knox, Evie, Kylynne, Charlie, Ezrah.

Barb is preceded in death by her husband, Landon (Don) Jones; two sons, Scott Nehmer and Mark Nehmer; and her parents.

Per Barb's wishes cremation has taken place.

A Celebration of life will take place at 11:00am on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at New Hope Family Church, 201 W Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, MI with Pastor Dan Webb officiating. With a private interment at Kendall Cemetery in Pine Grove Township, Kendall, Michigan at a later date.
