Allen Bruce Dickerson, age 86, was called home by our Lord on Sunday, February 23, 2025. Born on June 8, 1938, he was raised on the Lake Michigan shores in South Haven by his parents, Harold Clyde and Lucille Anne Dickerson. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Arlene, his son Scott (Janelle); daughter, Maribeth (Ron) Graff; and grandsons, Zachary and Noah Dickerson. Allen is predeceased by his parents; and sister, Barbara Thomas (Dickerson); as well as many dear friends over the years.
Allen graduated from South Haven High School in 1956. He was a proud Wolverine who earned two University of Michigan degrees -B.S. in industrial engineering (1960); MBA (1962). He held U of M season football tickets for over 30 years and had fun at many games with his family and friends.
Allen was a larger-than-life personality who loved living on Lake Michigan, racing sailboats, showing and judging classic cars, and downhill skiing. However, his true passion was design whether it was interior and exterior home, architectural, or automobile design, Allen was in his element.
During his last years, Allen resided in Eaton Rapids, MI at Country Acres Assisted Living so that he could be closer to his daughter. They shared a love of University of Michigan football and all things U of M. At Country Acres, Allen loved the staff, other residents, and the owner/owner’s family. He was loved back and felt comfortable in his room and the home there.
Per Allen’s wishes, there will be no memorial services.
Anyone desiring to do something in his memory can contribute to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson’s Foundation or the Al-Van Humane Society in South Haven, MI.
