William Charlsen

William D. Charlsen (Bill) of Woodbury, MN passed away on February 14, 2023 at the age of 80. He was born on September 21, 1942 in Stillwater, MN where he grew up and graduated from Stillwater High School. Bill served in the U.S. Navy, stationed in Fall River, MA from 1960-1964. He was very proud of his time in the Navy. For many years, Bill worked as a high voltage electrician at Xcel Energy until 2000 and was actively involved in IBEW Local 23 Union.

He was preceded in death by his parents Margaret Alice and Dean Charlsen; sister Patricia Downs and brother Jack Charlsen. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Carol; his sister Janice (Dave) Carlson, brother Kevin (Cheri) Charlsen; children, Karen (Mark) Nelson, Wendy (Denise) Charlsen, Darrin (Deb) Charlsen, Erik Charlsen (Elizabeth Twedt), Brenda (Todd) Aarthun and Brian Grundhauser (Mary Ann Verdi); ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all the nursing staff at United Hospital, unit 7920 for the care and compassion they showed our beloved Bill in his final days.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service at North Saint Paul American Legion on March 4th. Lunch will be served.

Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery at a later date.
