Wayne John Gartner

Wayne John Gartner of Le Sueur, MN, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025, at the age of 77. He was born on April 12, 1947, in St Paul, MN, where he grew up, married Paulett, and raised his four children.

He served in the United States Army, with whom he was deployed with and served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Army, Wayne worked for the University of Minnesota. He was an active member of the American Legion, VFW, and Veterans Campground on Big Marine Lake.

Wayne was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Paulett; parents, Anthony and Florence; brothers, Jim and Dave. He is survived by children, John, Anthony (Aislinn), Chad (Tracy), Jessica; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Dennis (Beth) and Greg; sisters, Donna (Harlan) and Beverly (Carl); and many cherished friends.

Wayne will be interred along with Paulett at Oakland Cemetery in St. Paul, MN, on April 12, 2025 at 2:00pm. When arriving at the cemetery please use the 75 E. Sycamore St. entrance. Family and friends are invited to attend the service and then gather at the American Legion on Arcade St. for a drink and to share stories.
