Timothy Flinn Smith of Roseville, MN, passed away on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at the age of 73 after a six year battle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia. Tim was born on January 10th, 1952, in Spartanburg, SC, and grew up in Greer, SC.
After earning a Masters in Public Health from the University of South Carolina, Tim spent over 40 years working on leadership development and change management consulting in healthcare. He worked at several healthcare and education organizations throughout his career before retiring in 2018. He also wrote and self-published a book on navigating organizational change in healthcare called When Change Hits the Floor.
Tim had a variety of interests including golf, going to Green Bay Packers games with his sons, college basketball and football, watching movies, and bluegrass music. He loved to laugh and be silly, create thoughtful gifts for friends and family, and believed in helping his loved ones to the best of his ability. He felt his friends were an extension of his family and lived by the mantra “Blessed is the line that blurs between family and friends.”
Tim deeply loved his family. The last few years of his life were happily spent with both his sons, their spouses, his three grandchildren, and his beloved cat, Buddy. Tim is preceded in death by his parents, J. Carl and Myrtle Smith; sister-in-law, Terry Smith; nephew, Patrick Smith. He is survived by his sons, Zachary (Cassandra) Smith, Tyler (Kristine) Smith; grandchildren, Tillie, Liliana, and Arlo Smith; his older brothers, David (Libby) Smith, Danny Smith; his nieces, Lauren (Patrick) Smith, Amanda (Josh) Caines, Mary Paige (Blake) Smith; his nephew, Jeffery Smith.

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial at 2pm on Saturday, February 15th at The Wood Mortuary, 300 W Poinsett St, Greer, SC. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:30pm.
