Thomas Watson of Buffalo, MN, passed away at the Glenn Memory Care in Buffalo, MN on October 6, 2022 at the age of 78. He was born on October 21, 1943 in Superior, Wisconsin to Glenn and Theresa Watson.
After he graduated from Barnum High School in 1962, he went on to work for Potlatch Corporation as a millworker for 35 years. He was united in marriage to Linda Ulvi on November 22, 1969 and they lived in Mahtowa, MN for over 25 years as they raised their 3 children. Thomas was a superfan of the Barnum girls high school basketball team and would speak fondly of this time in his life. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and would share many stories of his adventures to anyone who would listen. During the last years of his life, he enjoyed fishing when he was able and playing bingo with the other residents of the Glenn. He loved to watch the Twins and Vikings and would often wear his fan gear around the Glenn. Thomas loved to tease and tell jokes and loved to give to others to show his love for them. He could be difficult to get along with but also impossible to forget. Thomas endured years of pain and hardship and through that, taught others the character of strength and perseverance.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Theresa and Glenn Watson; and his brother, Darryll Watson. He is survived by his siblings, Richard Watson, Shirley (Don) Magnussen, Carolyn Watson, Michael (Mary Lisa) Watson; ex-wife, Linda; and children, Angela (Brad) Robson, Christopher Watson, Leah (Andy) Kohls, and 9 grandchildren.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Glenn Memory Care for their care, compassion, and patience they have shown Thomas in his last years.
Family and friends are invited to attend a service at Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo, MN on October 27, 2022 at 10 am for visitation and 10:30 for the service. Interment to follow at 4pm at Mount Salem Cemetery in Mahtowa, MN.
