Thea was such a light in my life. My forever soul sister. Ive been fortunate to know her since elementary school. She was always the most comforting presence, providing so much love and light to everyone she met. She is greatly missed.

Thea would sit with me online late night when the demons of the mind like to wander and together we would keep them at bay. My life was better and easier when Thea was in it and will be harder forever for the absence of it if for no other reason than how much more we will all have to do to not let the world diminish by letting the kindness and magic it spread everywhere she went disappear.

I don’t think she will ever know how much her friendship meant to me. Thea is one of those beings who if you ever got to meet your life would forever be a little more brighter. 
While I can’t say we were close I can whole heartedly say that she made the beginning of my college journey very special. Thea and our other friends at Augsburg University brought some wonderful memories that I still look back on to this day.  
She always embodied a caring and loving soul and I’d do anything to have a hug from her one last time.

No one was quicker or better with boxes and packing. No matter the weather, her own energy, her pain, she showed up. This photo was taken when we were moving two good friends together. I don’t know why it has become a favorite of mine. Maybe because it is simply her, without anything hiding who she was at her core. A wonderful friend, a reliable community member and a smile during hard times. I will miss her hands, her wit and her wisdom whenever there is a task that feels too large now.

One thing about Thea is she was absolutely incredible with a makeup brush. To say she was an artist feels like an understatement. When I met her, I had just started allowing myself to wear makeup again. She came over and did the most beautiful makeup look on me and I returned the favor. I painted her like the clouds in front of a sunset. I would like to imagine that is where she is now, sitting in the rays of the sun with her pink hair painting the sky. What I wouldn’t give to do her makeup one last time. 

Thea brought people together wherever she went and left art and beauty in her wake. I hope to remember her artistry and the smile she had when she saw herself as a beautiful canvas forever. Rest easy girl.

One of my favorite memories with Thea was getting to go to the rerelease of Star Wars Ep 3 and hearing Thea and myself both whispering the quotes and lines to my husband who had never seen it. And how after that it became her mission to show us the extended cut of Lord of the Rings. Every moment Thea shared some of her love and joy with us it would like lighting up the room. I have a million things I could say about her but the joy I got to have by having her in my life was a blessing gone too soon. -Rowen

I met Thea at a very strange moment in my life as I had only begun to explore my queerness and Identity. She was swiftly the most supportive and accepting person to help me move through that moment. Thea was able to know regardless of distance or time exactly when I needed someone to help me create space for myself. The ability to know that I was deep in the throes of anxiety or dysphoria is something that made loving Thea effortless. Thanks to that effortless love I was able to enthusiastically create space for Thea in my life. In January of this year after spending hundreds of hours speaking and spending time with one another Thea finally asked me if I would be ok with living together. I was in disbelief that someone so phenomenal would want to spend that much time with me but with zero hesitation I agreed and suddenly we had begun planning our future together. I will love and miss Thea beyond words that I can express, and in ways I'll never fully understand, because love from her was something incomprehensible and wild. Thea was the greatest and boldest person I've ever been lucky enough to meet.

My name is Forrest Morrison. Thea became a crucial pillar of my chosen family in the last 4 years it graced my life. She was headstrong, vivacious, poignantly witty, and had no qualms with making space for itself when sharing the things that were important to her. She/It held a wide variety of talents apart from connecting others with her radically powerful empathy; computer engineering, carpentry, welcome lengthy anime dissertations, visual art, and love. She struggled with chronic illness, and so, we found a way of holding it together, as two people finding solace in bodies that constantly make decisions for us. Her love has taught me that no matter what happens, there is always a route to forgiveness. There is always a choice between apathy and curiosity when encountering strangers. There is sometimes not a choice between life and death. My choice is to keep my heart as open as I can, knowing she would wish nothing but love just like hers to enter my life over and over again. I love you, Thea, and always will.
