It is with disbelief and great sadness that we announce the passing of Taylor on Sunday, February 23, 2025 due to an undiagnosed heart condition. His birth on March 13, 1990 was truly a family affair. His sister joined mom and dad in the delivery room for his birth. His brother camped out in the nursery to hold and rock him in the first hours of his life. In his nearly 35 years, he lived a pretty interesting and full life. He achieved his dream of going to Japan during college, where his big blonde curly hair attracted a lot of attention, smiles, and requests to touch it. He traveled the U.S. working with an animatronic dinosaur show for many years. He went to almost every state and some states twice, and kept one of the T-Rex heads as a souvenir. He also traveled and worked with the Susan G. Komen Three-day Walk for Breast Cancer charity in support of his mom. He had a passion for collecting and working on vehicles and was skilled and working as an auto body technician. He dabbled in making glass art, painting, and designing some of his own tattoos, one of which featured a ceramic robot that he made in college.
Taylor was preceded in death by his grandparents, Melvin and Ruby Hughes and Lester and Lillian Lindstrom; father, John Hughes; nephew, Mitchell Rognrud; aunts, Leslie Johnson and Debra Peterson; and uncle, Gary Lindstrom.
He is survived by his mother, Jody Hughes; sister, Freya Hughes; brother, Scott Hughes; niece, Emily (Joe Zemmels) Rognrud; cousins and many friends, some of whom he has known since childhood.
No memorial is planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his honor to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society. The family would like to thank the first responders and Neptune Society who showed so much care and compassion.
