Sue was known for always being impeccably put together, even if it meant she arrived a little late. A lifelong night owl, she took her time and did things her way. Friends often joked that her entrance was worth the wait.
She was kind, caring, and deeply loved by those who knew her. Sue had a gentle sweetness, paired with a dry sarcasm that her friends especially adored. She had a way of making people feel cared for, and she maintained close friendships throughout her life.
Faith was important to Sue. She loved Christ and was actively involved with her church community for many years, where she found connection, comfort, and purpose.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Vance and Ruby Heney; her beloved husband, Cole Holland, the love of her life; her brother, Darrell Heney; and her sister, Barb Robach.
She is survived by her daughter, Stacy Holland; her grandson, Marcus Holland; her stepdaughter and husband, Jodi and Dave Paulson; her grandchildren by heart, Nick and Britt; and many nieces, nephews, and beloved friends who will miss her deeply.
A celebration of Sue’s life will be held on January 15, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Hosanna Lutheran Church in Lakeville, Minnesota. Visitation will take place prior to the service at 2:00 p.m., with a small reception to follow the service at approximately 4:00 p.m.
