Born to be loved by everyone she touched. Susan started off on this earth on April 13th 1945. She left us behind to go and be with her many beloved dogs on July 5th, 2026. Brought into life by Peter and Marie Wycoskie of Robbinsdale. Sisters that passed before her were Gail, Janet, Arlene and Helene. David, her younger brother, lives with his wife Janet in Cadillac, Michigan.
She often said that her life revolved around 1 bus route.
After graduating from Robbinsdale High school her ambition was to be a hairdresser. But before that she worked as a candy girl/usher at many of the downtown theaters. Her first was Century Theater. From there, she went to the Mann and the Academy theater. But what she wanted more than anything was to make people look beautiful through her talent with styling hair. She loved that just about as much as she loved her garden and beautiful flowers. Her favorite salon was VERA LYNN, where she developed many lifelong friendships with other hairstylist's as well as her clients.
While she was working at one of the theaters, she and the love of her life Jack, eloped to Breezy Point where they tied the knot in 1966. Shortly after that they started a family, raising 3 of the most wonderful children a family could ask for. First was Christine (Mark Elwood) who had 2 boys. Then came Colette (Curt Clausen). Before Curt, there was Jon Bishop, who died of cancer. They had a daughter Sammantha. After that she married Jeffrey Poferl who also died of cancer.
Susan's last child was John III (his partner Sergio Perez). All of her children moved on with their lives, leaving Minnesota to pursue their careers. John followed in his mother's footsteps and opened his own salon in Chicago. Susan was very proud.
Susan is blessed with 3 grandchildren, David (Rebecca), Daniel (Jessica) & Sammantha (Ryan). 8 great grandchildren, Savannah, Jada, Daniel Jr, Leilani, Temen, Kennedy, Luca & Hope. She will be greatly missed by all, including her nieces and nephews.
At this time we would like to acknowledge Susan's HOSPICE home care team nurse, Jillian Deschenes, who is an angel without wings.
Per Susan's request, there will not be a funeral. A private ceremony will be held at Fort Snelling.
