Steven Jon Schwarze

Steven Jon Schwarze, of Elk River, Minnesota, passed away on Tuesday, March 4th, 2025 at the age of 78. He was born on October 27, 1946 in Hutchinson, MN.

He graduated from Minnetonka High School in 1964 and served in the US Navy from 1964 to 1970 as a submariner aboard the USS Runner. Steve then worked for Coca Cola for 44 years.

His hobbies and loves were woodworking, whittling, fishing, coaching, cooking, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Schwarze; his brother, Joel Schwarze; and his parents, Oliver and Henrietta Schwarze.

Steve is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Jeff) Brown and Stephanie (Robert) Connors; grandchildren; Tyler and Kyle Schibonski, Maxim Brown, and Logan Connors; brother, Gary (Sharon) Schwarze; and his sister, Debra Schwarze.

Steve fought a valiant battle against two very aggressive cancers, pancreatic and esophageal. Despite knowing the odds of beating it, he chose to fight it just to gain a little more time with his family. He did that, and we are so very grateful that he did.

The family would like to thank Triniti Home Health and Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days. Jess, you are truly amazing…THANK YOU.

Please join us to celebrate the lives of Steven and Donna Schwarze on Monday, March 31st at Gearhart, 552 East River Rd, Anoka, MN. Visitation at 9:30 am, service at 10 am, and luncheon to follow. Interment will take place at the MN State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley at 3:00 pm.
