Scott Martin Bottcher, of Minneapolis and Richfield, Minnesota, born November 16, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota, passed away on Thursday, April 2, 2026 after a long illness. He was preceded in death by his father, Jade M. Bottcher and mother, Carole (Shrewsbury) French.
Scott never married and is survived by his four siblings, Jerald Bottcher, Karla Snider, Karen Carlson, and Beth Stromberg, along with many nieces and nephews.
Scott had lived in many places around the country. His work of choice was as a waiter and had worked at many high-end restaurants including Murrays and Capital Grill. (Both of these he worked for at least 10 years each). His former colleagues held him in high regard. They considered him to be professional, kind, and always helping. They loved working with him and felt that he brought out the best in them.
He loved to play billiards and at one time was a top ten ranked 8 ball player in the country.
Scott led an interesting life, he had a LARGE personality, and though he had many loves, he never married. He was a good friend to many people and treated everyone well. He was always surrounded by friends and was the life of the party.
The world is a little less bright without him in it. We know that even as Scott has passed, he lives on in our memories and our hearts. He was a fine brother who always helped out when he could and enjoyed cooking. He was in fact a consummate “Foodie”. He always had a better recipe and way to cook.
In the last few years, he supported the local VFW, even though he was not a vet, but he wanted to support our veterans in any case. He asked that everyone drink a toast to him and remember him kindly. At some time in the future we will be having a celebration of life, but at this time no services are scheduled.
His Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Richfield VFW Post 5555 located at 6715 Lake Shore Drive South, Richfield, MN 55423 from Noon to 2 PM followed by his interment at Lewis Cemetery in Independence, MN.
