Rosemary Ann (Farrell) Williams, beloved wife, sister, stepmother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the spry young age of 90. She was a woman who lived life with joy and enthusiasm, filling every moment with laughter, love, and a touch of sparkle.
Born and raised in Minneapolis to Marion and James Farrell, Rosemary had a vibrant spirit and a knack for finding fun wherever she went. Rosemary spent over 20 years working at Abbott Hospital, making many lifelong friends and enjoying downtown adventures. She loved a night on the town, always ready to see what shenanigans she could get into, and she never turned down an opportunity for good food, good company, and a little mischief.
She was married to her beloved husband, Jay Williams, for 40 wonderful years. After they retired, they built a home in Leesburg, FL where they spent their time socializing with neighbors, going to Disney World and other Florida attractions. Jay and Rosemary enjoyed traveling to MN and MD to see family and friends, hosting dinner parties, and taking extended trips to the ocean for rest and relaxation. She had a love for cruising, always ready to pack her bags for her next adventure at sea. Whether it was enjoying the ocean breeze, indulging in delicious meals, or discovering new destinations, she found pure happiness on a cruise ship. Back on land, she was the ultimate hostess, never passing up a cute appetizer plate or a matching napkin set—because every gathering deserved a touch of style and fun.
She adored romance novels and completing crossword puzzles. Rosemary had a knack for catalog shopping - always finding just the right pair of shoes, brightly colored t-shirt, fun sunglasses or holiday decorations. More than anything, she loved her husband, Jay, who doted on her endlessly. Rosemary treasured the time spent with family and friends. Her infectious laughter could fill a room, and her love for holiday themed decorations made each one feel extra special. When it was your birthday or anniversary, she always managed to find the funniest card to send you on your special day.
Rosemary is survived by her sister, Patricia (Farrell) Magee; her stepchildren, Jeff (Diana) Williams and Janelle (Mark) Frantzen; her grandchildren, Justin, Matt, and Shelby Williams, Joey and Julianna Frantzen; many nieces and nephews; and grand nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death just a few weeks ago by her beloved husband, Jay. She was also predeceased by her dear brother, James Farrell Jr., and her cherished brother-in-law, Linus Magee, both of whom she held dear in her heart.
Though our hearts are heavy having lost both Rosemary and Jay in such a short span of time, we find comfort in the joy she brought into our lives and are at peace knowing that they are together again. She leaves behind bountiful amounts of treasured memories, numerous holiday themed hats and headbands, and a collection of appetizer plates fit for a lifetime of gatherings. Rosemary will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
Bon voyage, Rosemary, until we meet again.
