

Ronald Coleman Bauer, of San Juan Capistrano, California, Annandale and Rogers, Minnesota passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at the age of 89. He was born on September 22, 1935 in St. Louis, MO and grew up In St. Louis, running a series of restaurants.
Ronald graduated from University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor’s of Arts as well as Seminary from Nashotah House in 1965 and worked as an Episcopal Priest. Missions and parishes Ron served were as Vicar at St. Stephens, Guymon, Oklahoma; Curate, Trinity, Fort Worth Texas; College Chaplain, St. Paul’s, Manhattan, Kansas; Rector, River Area Parishes including Trinity, Hannibal, Stp Paul’s, Palmyra, St. Luke’s Monroe City, Calvary, Louisiana, Grace, Clarksville, and St. John’s, Eolia, Missouri; Rector, St. David’s Church and School, Minnetonka, Minnesota; Rector, St. Margaret of Scotland Episcopal Church and School, San Juan Capistrano, California.
Ron was actively involved in Teens Encounter Christ and the Mission at San Juan Capistrano where he created a clay camp as well as many historical reenactments. Ron also built a forno at the mission, grew grapes, and made wine among many other activities.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman Bauer and Charlotte Bentrup; brother, Herman Bauer, and son, Peter Bauer.
Ron is survived by his wife, Dianne Bauer; former spouse, Marion Dane Bauer; Beth-Alison (Terry) Berggren, Barrett (Heleena) Bataille, Bailey (Connor) Bataille, Kyra Berggren, Chester Berggren, Katy (Nathan) Trottier, Conner Bauer, Brannon Bauer, Cullen (Rachel) Bauer-Trottier, and Katrina (Kohl) Sanders; great-grandsons, Kael and Kade; brother, Warner (Donna) Bauer; Laura (Lou) Helleny, Juliana (Max) Fehrendof, Marie Helleny, Augie Helleny, Renee Brenner, Kimberly Brenner, Mitchell (Abby) Brenner, Kimberly (Mike) Carriker, Brian (Chris) Bauer, Michael (Heidi) Bauer, Grace Bauer, Magen Bauer, Mark Bauer, Stephenie (Walter) Eley, and Johnny Gainnola.
Many friends and family recount loving coming to Ron’s home to share the love and warmth of our home, especially in the kitchen and around the dinner table. They recall loving the interesting and wonderful meals and conversations around the dinner table. All with MPR playing in the background.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice for the care and compassion they showed our loved one in his final days.

Family and friends are also invited to attend a Celebration of Life Feast at Pleasant Vista Senior Living Community at 700 Park Street East, Annandale, MN on Saturday, September 13 at 1:00 – 4:00 pm.
