

and Clara (Hickel) Volk. He attended country school in rural Mankato. He served in the US Army from 1953 to 1955. On July 23, 1957 he married Bernice Barr of Mankato. Berniece died in 1972. In 1969
he founded Volk Electric in St. Peter and owned that business until his retirement. On February 25, 1973 he married Carol Mans (nee Rapp).
Bob was active with the Nicollet County Fair board, camping groups affiliated with Winnebago motorhomes
and spent over 40 years as a Winter Texan in Mission, TX. He was a member of the Redman Club and the American Legion in St. Peter.
Prior to starting his own business, he worked for Ritt Electric in St Peter, MN.
Bob is survived by his wife, Carol. Daughters and son-in Laws Cheryl and John Gilbertson, of St. Peter and Deb and Dennis “JB” Johnson of Mankato. Grandchildren; Jody and Mark Lumsden of Mankato; Jeremy and Becky Gilbertson of Mankato; Kim Gilbertson and Kenny Johnson of Kasota; Tiffany Schulte of Mankato and Corey Velzke of Waseca. Great Grandchildren; Luke and Logan Lumsden: Rylen, Easton
and Cora Schulte; Kieara and Kody Johnson. Brother and Sister-in-law, Merle and Jane Volk of Florida.
Many nieces and nephews and friends of all ages.
He is predeceased by his parents, his wife Berniece, his sister: Catherine Brandt Tietz, Bother in laws Wilbur Brandt and Carl Tietz. Brothers and sisters in law; Frank and Dorothy Volk, Duane and Liz Volk,
Lawrence and Buelah Volk, and brother Gerald Volk.
Visitation will be on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9 am to 10:45 am; followed by services at 11:00 am, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 511 S 5th Street; St Peter, MN 56082, Burial will take place at Kasota Hill Cemetery, Kasota, MN.
