He was preceded in death by his parents, Carroll and Rosella; siblings, Carroll and Patricia, and daughter Anne.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marcia; children, Peter, Michele, Tony, Molly, Kate, and nine grandchildren.
A graduate of the United States Military Academy (Class of '55), he proudly served his country in West Germany, followed by a successful engineering career with 3M International Division that took him to 5 different continents. He was a gentleman and a hard-working example to his family, with fond memories of coaching Little League baseball and ice skating in Highland Park. Over the course of a long and busy retirement, he enjoyed daily rounds of golf, coin and stamp collecting, and volunteering at children's hospitals with Marcia as clowns HooRay and Binky, with his trusty balloon animal kit. He loved to entertain family and friends with his travel stories and knowledge of Russian, German and Japanese. In his later years he also enjoyed playing the piano for his neighbors at The Glenn Hopkins and being the undisputed bingo champ at Lake Minnetonka Shores.
Services and a Celebration of Life will be held next summer.
